Robo had one of the sweetest temperaments of any boxer we’ve ever had. No dog could get him to fight, even though he was a very active and popular stud dog. He would lie on a blanket beside me ringside and watch the shows; no lead necessary. He was the best Ambassador for Boxers at benched shows, shaking hands with and kissing anyone who wanted to meet him. 3 days on the bench at Cow Palace in San Francisco was Heaven on Earth for him! He LOVED people! (and balls!)
Robo is available to approved bitches for breeding. Please see his additional pages for pedigree, photos and health screening information. Frozen semen available. He carries a fawn alllele, so can sire fawn puppies.
We require OFA Hips, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) genome screen, current echo and 24 hour holter, and current thyroid screen. We prefer that thyroid screens show normal results, but will consider vaccination and any other environmental thyroid assaults prior to deciding if a bitch is acceptable for breeding. We also recommend ARVC, eye screen (OFA or CERF) and OFA Elbows, but they are not required for breeding to Robo. Bitches accepted for stud service should be at least eighteen months of age, in good health, free from communicable diseases and disqualifying genetic faults. DM results are preferred to be clear (Normal/Normal).
Robo finished his AKC Championship with 16 points, a 3 pt and a 4 pt major, 5 Best of Winners, 2 Best Opposites, 3 Best of Breeds, with 2 Best of Breeds and 2 Group Third’s Owner-handled!
Robo also finished his States Kennel Club Championship owner-handled with Best of Breeds and Group Placements in all but one show, including a Working Group First, with Boxers having the largest breed entry in that show. We were cut down to the final two for Best in Show, but coming in second to the #1 Pomeranian in the USA didn’t bother us one bit!
He also earned two International Certificates of Merit for excellence in conformation during these competitions.
