The health and longevity of every Gentry puppy is something we take personally. We have spent fifty years making breeding decisions with one goal: dogs that live long, healthy lives. Our health guarantee reflects that commitment.

Because contracts are sometimes customized for individual situations, this page does not constitute complete contract language. We will honor only the signed contract agreed upon at the time of purchase — not any language appearing on this website. The full contract is available for review by buyers who have an approved application on file with us.
Immediate Health Guarantee
Your puppy is covered for 3 business days from the date of pickup for any health condition not disclosed at the time of sale. We conduct a thorough health check at approximately 7 weeks of age. Any findings from that exam are noted directly in your contract and addressed on an individual basis before your puppy goes home.
Long-Term Health Guarantee
Our long-term guarantee covers your Gentry puppy for five years from the date of purchase against debilitating heritable conditions including hip dysplasia, subaortic stenosis, and cardiomyopathy.
This is a limited guarantee. Claims require documentation of a debilitating condition by a board-certified veterinary specialist. Full details and conditions are contained in your purchase contract.
Important Conditions That Affect Your Guarantee
Your long-term health guarantee requires that your dog remain intact or be altered only through a hormone-sparing procedure. Conventional spay and neuter damage the endocrine system and significantly increase the risk of the very conditions our guarantee covers. The following do not void your guarantee:
